First Impressions

After more than twenty years of Munich High End show, traveling to the Austria Center Vienna felt like a huge change. As soon as you walk inside the new venue, you notice how massive the building is. The halls are wide, the ceilings are high and it’s plenty of natural light. Overall it was a nice relief from the crowded and tight spaces during the busiest days in Munich.

However, the room layout felt a bit messy to navigate. Some of the home audio setups were placed in vast and beautifully shaped rooms that let flagship speakers perform perfectly. On the other hand, some premium brands were put into tiny side rooms that were simply too small and caused bad acoustics and overall performance. Despite these layout issues and long morning lines to get entrance bracelets, Vienna basically has injected a refreshing energy into the event. It felt like an exciting fresh start for world biggest High-End show!

We Are Finally Featured at High End Vienna

This year’s show is a huge step for us. It was the 1st time Lavricables was officially featured at an international audio event of such scale. For a brand started as a hobby and passion for silver conductors, seeing our cables integrated into high-end reference systems is an incredible achievement. It is important milestone in our history that we will always remember. It takes our journey way beyond online reviews.

Our totl Grand line cables were paired with ultra resolving Hifiman Susvara in two amazing setups:

• Flawless synergy with the precision and clarity of the Weiss DAC501mk2.
• Paired with the iconic Riviera AIC10 – one of the most musical, holographic and emotional headphone amps on the market nowadays.

It was amazing to see passionate headfiers, industry colleagues and our reviewers sit down, listen and experience transparent sound of our Grand line cables in such high-end setups.

The Headphone World

The portable and personal audio space in Vienna was a noticeable upgrade compared to the noisy and open halls back in Munich. The dedicated “Headphone World” area was much more quiet and spacious, making it way easier to actually sit down and audition high-end gear without all the background noise. It is clear that head-fi setups are catching up to big home speaker systems in terms of soundstage and clarity. Amps from brands like FiiO, Matrix Audio, Feliks Audio were all over the tables, showing off impressive, beautiful designs that looked just as great as they sounded. The absolute star of the show was the early preview of Meze ARTA headphones. They sounded incredible with amazing detail and spectacular soundstage.

High-End Systems

The heart of exhibition remained the same as before – the systems with cost no object engineering. The size of Vienna show allowed extreme, over million euro setups to perform with unbelievable scale. While some rooms suffered from acoustic issues, the other spaces delivered some of the finest home audio reproduction we have ever heard.

• Auer Acoustics with CH Precision: absolute masterclass in sonic authority. Amazing microdynamis with deep and layered soundstage with impeccable timing.
• Stenheim driven by Westend Audio: the room was so addictive to sit there, very musical and engaging. The tubes made music very fluid and precise and rounded off any analytical sharpness.
• Martin Logan with EMM Labs: the presentation was very holographic and completely detached from the speakers, making them completely disappear.
• Absolare with Nagra dac: rich, warm and very emotional musical therapy.
• AlsyVox with Aries Cerat: unforgettable pairing for sure. Grand presentation like alive wall of sound deliver thunderous bass dynamics.
• Magico: they were good as always. The S7 delivered zero coloration, super focused instrument separation, very tightly controlled low end register.

Final Thoughts

Overall the trip to Vienna High End was an incredible ride. Experiencing the world’s best audio systems as well as seeing our own Grand line cables driving flagship setups on the big stage, made it a truly unforgettable milestone for Lavricables. It’s truly inspiring where the industry is heading and how event grows next year.
